Our Traceability

 

 

During each step of quality control, a sample is taken and analyzed internally by our laboratory as so as externally by the Health Authority.

From the dairy farm collecting until the loading of the finished product, an identification coding is implemented by using an internal bar code in order to respect a perfect traceability during the different steps of manufacturing.  On basis of the batch number mentioned on the consumer packing, all the successive identifications can be traced for the whole production scheme through the production computer file.

Loading of raw milk at the dairy farm
When loading at each dairy farm of the liquid raw milk in the collecting tank truck, a representative sample ( said as « proportional » ) is taken and identified with a bar code integrating the following data : batch number, dairy farm identification code, the date and time of loading as so as the loaded quantity. This sample has to be remitted to the Authority for Milk Control.

Arrival at the dairy factory
Each tank truck collecting milk from several dairy farms is carefully homogenized (mixing) and sampled with identification by a barcode,  for analysis purpose in our dedicated laboratory. This identification provides us information particularly on the origin of the dairy farms, the reference of the tank truck used, the conditions of collecting, the identification of the driver,…   In order to allow the implementation of the liquid milk, the laboratory is analyzing primarily the absence of antibiotics and the milk composition (total bacteria count, fat content, proteins, lactose), to be performed in a few minutes as to release rapidly the batch, if all results meet the specifications.

Others ingredients
Each other dairy ingredient (whey) or non-dairy ingredient (blend of vegetable oils, vitamins, minerals,… ) are supplied from previously registered manufacturers and each delivered batch is accompanied by a certificate of analysis and bear its initial batch number. When arriving at the manufacturing factory, the batch is identified with an internal batch number entering in the nomenclature of the formula to be manufactured and will be used during the own analysis performed by our laboratory.

Big Bags
Each big bag of finished product is bearing respectively an identification number allowing the laboratory to perform a certain number of analysis for each big bag.

Retail packing in individual packing
During the operation of retail packing in tins or sachets, a batch number is mentioned on the bottom of the tin or cardboard box, which can provide information later on the conditions under which the manufacturing and the packing have been performed. The production and expiry dates are also mentioned for consumer information as so as a chronological reference number different for each packing, enabling a more detailed identification.

Key steps
The important steps of manufacturing and retail packing are conducted by experimented and specially technicians trained to detect any anomaly or deviation regarding the parameters during the process. The computer assisted monitoring of the operations is requesting an identification by an individual magnetic badge which has to be inserted in the identifier/recorder during the whole processing, allowing possible corrective actions during the processing operations. This will allow to trace the actions that the concerned operator has taken the manufacturing process, in the frame of the production computer file.

All the manufacturing and retail packing steps, all the parameters results (temperature, pressure, flow,...) and the relevant corrective actions towards possible variation found have to be recorded in the production computer file which is kept in a specialized software until the expiry date.  From this batch number and the chronological number mentioned on the bottom of the tin or the cardboard box, it is possible to trace all the manufacturing steps, which allow to evaluate on a regular basis the potential aspects for improvement and to implement corrective actions.
